Love Island Season 4 winner Jack Fincham was given a jail sentence of six weeks on the account of his cane corse dog, Elvis, attacking people in 2022 and 2024 subsequently. The Love Island star pleaded guilty and got out of jail within a few hours for the offense of a dangerous dog attack.
In 2022, Jack Fincham's dog Elvis attacked a runner in Swanley, Kent, causing an injury that led to him receiving a caution notice. He apologized to the person and agreed to the deal to contain any further dangerous attack by his dog, as stated by the prosecutor, Eric Perk. The deal tasked Fincham to muzzle and put a leash on his dog for future precaution.
In June 2024, the BBC reported another incident involving Fincham's dog attacking a woman. Fortunately, the attack did not result in any injuries. As a consequence, Fincham was initially sentenced to six weeks in jail. However, after pleading guilty, his sentence was reduced to just a few hours.
He was also fined £3,680, which included a kenneling cost of £2,000, £961 as a fine, and £200 in compensation to Mr. Robert Sudell, the victim of the 2022 dog attack. If the Love Island star fails to comply with his appeal, he will not be granted any further compensation this time.
Love Island star Jack Fincham gets sentences because of his cane corse dog, Elvis
The former winner of Love Island, Jack Fincham, allegedly got a jail sentence after his dog, Elvis, attacked yet another person in public. This time, the dog grabbed a woman, aged 44, in the park in Culford Road, reported Essex police.
When the first attack happened in 2022, Mr. Robert Sudell, who got bit by Elvis, accepted the apology from Fincham, but after a second attack, despite the caution notice, he was prosecuted. The sentence did not last for more than a day. However, Seargent Alex Watkins of Essex Police expressed that Fincham had failed to comply with precautions on both occasions.
Alex Watkins mentioned to BBC:
"“On both occasions the owner was given a chance to rectify their behaviour with words of advice and a conditional caution — however failed to do so, resulting in this sentencing."
He further added:
"I thank both victims for their courage during this investigation."
The magistrate, Anne Wade, had also offered Fincham the relief of paying the fine of £3,680 in installments of £400 per month when Fincham's attorney, Richard Cooper, made a case that his client had no savings. However, the magistrate also made an order, keeping in mind the safety of the public in the future:
"The dog was in a public place not abiding by the conditions to be muzzled and kept on a lead."
She also added that the Love Island winner, Jack Fincham, should take the responsibility of not leaving the dog alone around anyone under the age of 16 years. Jack Fincham has kept his social media away from this news and has made no comments or posts related to his sentencing and appeal so far.
The Love Island star Jack Fincham featured in Season 4 of the show, which aired in 2018, and won the show with then-girlfriend Dani Dyer.
Currently, Love Island: All Stars is running Season 2 on ITV2 and is available to stream on Peacock.
