The Real Housewives of Dubai premiered its debut season in 2022 and made fans wait for almost 2 years for the second season. Season 2 of the show premiered on Bravo in June 2024 and aired till September 2024, closing the season with a two-part fiery reunion. However, the producers did not announce the third installment of the series, making the fans curious.
Andy Cohen, the executive producer and the host of the reunion episodes of the franchise opened up about The Real Housewives of Dubai's hiatus during an interview with People on November 25 and revealed that there are "too many housewives shows going on", and the producers wanted to pay attention to each show effectively.
Cohen told People that the decision to pause the series "was deliberate" and the cast of the show was informed about the same earlier this month. Cohen further added that the hiatus is not due to a low rating, adding:
"The great thing about the Housewives in general is that the numbers are super high for all of them across the board, especially when you factor in Peacock and streaming. You can't look at overnight or live ratings anymore. It just doesn't tell the whole story. And when we're making decisions, we're looking at the full picture."
"We love these shows, we all want to get it right", Cohen added.
The Real Housewives of Dubai Season 3 is not making it to the small screen anytime soon
The Real Housewives of Dubai took 2 years to release its second season and now as the news has it, season 3 of the show has not got a filming or release date. The cast of the show has been informed about the "pause" which necessarily doesn't convey that the show will not return. It could mean that the fans will have to wait for season 3, and they do not have a date.
Andy Cohen revealed that the show is going on a hiatus. He did not mention any probable period, but he did say during an interview with People that:
"We have a lot of Housewives going right now. And it's one of the reasons it took so long to get The Real Housewives of Atlanta going and one of the reasons we're in a deep pause with The Real Housewives of New Jersey. We just want to make sure we get everything right and be very deliberate with everything we're doing."
The Real Housewives of Dubai Season 1 and 2 are available on Peacock to stream.
