The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 aired on Netflix on December 4, 2024 and half of the cast had already headed back to their homes. After the producers released the first few episodes, two couples out of the six that entered this season decided to call it quits on the second night of moving in with their trial spouses.

Vanessa Hathaway and Dave Adams, and Chanel Watkins, and Micah Hardeman couldn't handle the pressure of their partners living with new people and decided to leave the experience.

In Episode 4 of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 Nick (trial partner of Vanessa), and Mariah (trial partner of Micah) found their partners and their stuff missing. This is when the fans got to know that four cast members who left, met off-camera secretly.

On finding out about the cast members leaving the show from the showrunner, Stephanie Boyrive, the creator and Kinetic Content CEO of the show, Chris Coelen talks about how he felt about 'The Choices' made this season,

“My understanding and impression was that people within that group were a little unsettled. But I feel like we’ve seen this in every season. You saw it when Lauren was going to pick Colby, then in Season 2 with Lisa and Brian. They ultimately decided to leave.”

He further talks about how couples met in secret,

“Then they snuck around. As a group, they secretly met. And listen, they’re adults. We don’t put restrictions on what people do or don’t do. But the expectation from the other participants is, ‘We’re going to be in trial marriages. Let’s actually do that, and not go hang out with our original partner.'”

Though he wasn't able to connect with Micah, he did show his support to the other three,

"We support whatever you want to do.”
“You want to fully participate, awesome. If you change your mind, that’s OK too. We’re interested in the story, regardless of how it develops. But it was very clear they wanted to leave. And we’re always going to be supportive of that.”

He added,

“I don’t feel like that would have been legitimate. The whole point of the dating week is for them to really choose — themselves — someone that they think has the qualities of someone that they could potentially marry, and then be in a trial marriage.”

He further talked about how the creators won't be pressuring Nick and Mariah to get together just to 'gamify' the show.

The first few episodes of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 are live on Netflix. The next three episodes will be dropped on Netflix on December 11, 2024, and the finale and reunion will stream on December 18, 2024.
