Netflix’s social experiment Love is Blind UK Season 1 featured Ollie Sutherland and Demi Brown, among many participants. They came on the show looking for a suitable partner, which some participants succeeded in. However, things did not end well for the couple, as Demi didn’t say, "I do" on their wedding day.
A recently released reunion episode of the show, filmed almost a year after the show’s finale, featured most participants. The Love is Blind UK reunion revealed that Demi and Ollie were no longer together. Since then, the participants have shared their side of the story through various platforms.
Ollie’s recent appearance on a podcast, Jess A Couple Things, on August 26, 2024, featured insights about how he and Demi started their connection on the show, from blind dates in the pods to couple's retreats and more.
"I mean, like, whereas with Demi, we had, like, we started, we were a slow burn. We started out like really really good friends, and it got flirtier, and it got more romantic as time went on, and for me, that's more, that's got more longevity than someone who's like there's just immediate like heat speak," shared Ollie.

Ollie recently appeared on Jess A Couple Things podcast, where he recalled his time on Love is Blind UK pods and how his connection with Demi began. He described their connection as "a slow burn," which Ollie described as "really really good."
He mentioned that, at the time, Demi felt like a "more real option," so he had to break things off with Catherine to "secure" his connection with Demi and move forward with her. He said,
"I know I've got to break things off with you (Catherine) right now. I'd already broken things off with Sharlotte that morning again, but it didn't get shown. Then I had to break things off with Cat, and then I could kind of secure things with Demi but then obviously she (Catherine) broke, beat me to it and broke off and I don’t care that whole who dumped who is so primary school."
Later on the podcast, Ollie shared how he felt when he met Demi for the first time on Love is Blind UK and his habit of assigning a face to any voice in real life.
"I’m the kind of person I said this on one of the podcasts the other day as well. When I’m on the phone to like the bank customer service, I instantly assign a face to a voice every single time. I’ve got quite a creative mind. So I already had a face in mind with regards to Demi."
The Love is Blind UK star said that after seeing Demi, he felt like "AI" and like "an animated person." He shared that, initially, after spending time in Greece during the retreat, he felt their bond "just increased." It was more so after seeing Demi in person, according to him.
Fans can witness Ollie and Demi’s journey from blind dates to their first face-to-face meeting and then at the altar. All the episodes of Love is Blind UK Season 1 are now streaming on Netflix.
