The Challenge 40 will premiere its finale episode on MTV on January 1, 2025. The upcoming episode will be the final and reveal the competition show's winner.
One of the finalists on The Challenge 40, Tori Deal, and another finalist, Johnny Bananas, discussed various incidents involving fellow participants and recent eliminations.
Fans witnessed the recent elimination during the show's episode 17. It featured The Final Elimination Task featuring Jenny and Cara Maria, resulting in the latter's elimination.
Referring to her relationship with Cara Maria, Tori Deal chimed in during the podcast episode and shared:
"I think there was there's always gonna be, you know, that storyline of me and Cara that tension building up, it, it just regardless of if we're friends now it was still, there was still tension between. Not recently, but like there's a history of it. So, of course, she wanted to win right, and so I don't, and to be fair, she never messaged me and discredited me.

The Challenge 40 star Tori Deal, while on the Johnny Bananas podcast, recalled how fans play a part in contestants' performance and how it affects their mindset before performing in the game.
Johnny Bananas mentioned:
"Personally, what I like is, if I win an elimination or I win a challenge, and yeah, people aren't trying constantly trying to discredit my win because it does, it's almost like, well, I would have won if this and it's like well it wasn't. This wasn't a pull-up contest, this wasn't a tug of war, and that's the thing about the challenge. This is what fans especially need to stop doing."
Regarding Tori and Cara's recent "The Final Elimination" task, the podcast host mentioned that the production "does not set" those things. For any participant to be a "better swimmer" is up to them.
"They didn't know who the f*** was going to be able to tread water for longer. You could be a better swimmer, but guess what? Maybe today's just not your day," he added.
Tori responded that she didn't know what to say about that, but as for Cara Maria, she mentioned that she has been very vocal about it. Since fans watch everything " weekly, "they might not know exactly how things unfolded on the show.
Referring to Cara Maria, The Challenge 40 finalist Tori added:
"She's always been nice to me so. I think, if anything more than fans love Cara so much, I think they wanted her to win, her fans wanted her to win, and I get that. They're her fans. So, um, but it is what it is, and I don't know what else to say about it."
Johnny mentioned that he had something to say about it. Later, he discussed how Tori had "absolutely" crushed The Final Elimination.
MTV will release The Challenge 40 on January 1, 2025.
