While Daredevil is the most beloved Netflix Marvel series, it was not the only series streaming on the platform. Iron Fist, headlined by actor Finn Jones, was also one of these shows. Though not as well-regarded as the first seasons of the other Netflix Marvel shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, it must be noted that the second season, which was released a year later in September 2018, was marked as an improvement.

The Iron Fist series was one of the first series to be canceled by Netflix. At that time, people thought that the show was canceled because of its lukewarm reception rather than rights issues, as we learned later. However, fast forward to 2021, Marvel started to incorporate the Netflix Marvel shows into the MCU, starting with Daredevil. Furthermore, from March 2022, all the Netflix Marvel series, including Iron Fist, began streaming on Disney+.

This move has fans hoping for the revival of other Netflix Marvel shows, too, including Finn Jones and Krysten Ritter. This week, Jones repeated his hope for a return during his appearance at the LaConve anime convention in Mexico. Asking for a second chance, Iron Fist actor Finn Jones said this:

"I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is ‘give me a f*cking chance, man.' I’m here, and I’m ready, and I wanna prove people wrong."

Explaining Finn Jones' most recent Iron Fist comments:

Looks like the actor genuinely regrets his past actions and wants a second chance at playing Iron Fist. That's because, as of 2017, the show was the second-worst reviewed adaptation of a Marvel property, the first being Josh Trank's 2015 Fantastic Four. Stunt coordinator Brett Chan, who worked on the first season, reflected on his experience on that set in a JAMCast podcast in July 2021. Here's what he said:

“I got slammed by a lot of people after that [Iron Fist Season 1] came out. Johnny and myself were doing 21, 22 hour days trying to make it work, and having the directors go, “Uh, no,” or Marvel saying, “Uh, no.” Everyone’s fighting and the actor doesn’t want to train. And [it was] like, guys, throw me a bone, give me something to work with. That’s why the best sequences were with Jessica Henwick. She trained four hours a day and she had zero martial arts experience.”

This quote might have created a negative impression about Finn Jones in the minds of fans. While it must be noted that Jones might have his side of the story, it hasn't been out there. But this might also have caused the actor to reflect upon his actions, and thus, he may want a chance to rectify that mistake by bringing life to this character again in the MCU.

The two seasons of Iron Fist, starring Finn Jones and Jessica Henwick, are available to stream on Disney+.
