In a recent announcement, ABC revealed renowned Olympic Medalist Stephen Nedoroscik as the first celebrity contestant for the upcoming Dancing With the Stars season 33. The news broke via Good Morning America on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Fans might already know 25-year-old Stephen Nedoroscik as the gymnast who won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Stephen Nedoroscik, also known as "Pommel Horse Guy," will be seen dancing and grooving to the beats while showing off his skills on the renowned dance reality show Dancing With the Stars season 33. DWTS season 33 is all set to premiere on September 17, 2024, on ABC and Disney+.

During his appearance on Good Morning America, host Robin Robert asked the gymnast whether he would be incorporating his "pommel horse moves" into dancing. Nedoroscik hoped to bring some of his moves to the dance reality show.

"Maybe a back flip or handstand. I want to have fun with it. I’m very excited."

During Thursday’s episode of Good Morning America, ABC made a massive announcement, according to which bronze medalist gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik would compete in the upcoming Dancing With the Stars season 33.

Olympic star Stephen Nedoroscik was among the USA men’s gymnastics team. He became the first participant to win the first Olympic gymnastics medal in 16 years. Nedoroscik also won an individual bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.

The two-time Olympic bronze medalist will also become the first male gymnast to join the dance show. On his recent appearance in the interview, he showcased his famous "pommel horse routine" in the studio. When the host, Robin Roberts, asked Nedoroscik whether he would be bringing any of his pommel horse moves in the dance competition show, the bronze medalist revealed,

"I'm hoping to bring some of them. I want to bring some flares, I want to bring some of that gymnastics."

When they were discussing Stephen Nedoroscik’s glasses, the host asked whether he would wear them during the upcoming Dancing With the Stars season 33, and he replied that he might have "fun" with them.

"Yeah, I might have fun with it. I'm scared they'll fly off is the thing, but maybe we could do a gadget to keep them or maybe a new pair of glasses to match the theme, right. That's what I'm thinking."

Olympic star Nedoroscik has strabismus (meaning he is a cross-eyed individual) and is a supporter of individuals with low vision.


Dancing With the Stars season 33 will premiere on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 9 pm ET on Disney+ and ABC. The next day, fans can stream recently released episodes on Hulu.
