Severance Season 2 featured several iconic moments, but the marching band sequence in the finale has particularly grabbed everyone’s attention. The scene came as a surprise to many as Mr. Milchick brought a band out of nowhere after Mark Scout completed 100% of the Cold Harbor file.
Though the scene has left fans talking, Tramell Tillman, who plays Milchick, revealed in an interview with Variety that he did not initially want to perform the sequence in Severance Season 2 as he thought it would be similar to the first season’s viral Music Dance Experience scene:
“I did not want to do it. And when I saw that it was a possibility, I said to a couple of the creators, 'I just don’t want Milchick dancing in every single season.'”
“Because I was concerned that we were going to try to replicate the Music Dance Experience. You can’t do that. It’s iconic, and it was special for what it was.”
Tramell Tillman reveals he was initially skeptical of the marching band scene in Severance Season 2 finale
Tramell Tillman said when he got to know that the creators were planning a dance sequence in the Severance Season 2 finale, he did not want to do it as he felt it would be like recreating season 1’s viral dance moment.
However, when director Ben Stiller told him there would be a marching band involved, Tillman got excited as he was mesmerized by these bands in his university days when he went to an HBCU. Talking about how fun it was to shoot the sequence, the actor said:
“It was epic. We had so much fun, I think we filmed that sequence over a couple of weeks, and that includes the rehearsals that we had on my on our days off, and making sure that we had everything that we need to make this absolutely incredible. I had a great time bonding with the band.”
The scene has gone on to become one of the most memorable moments from the second season, and fans are praising Tillman’s stellar performance in it. Meanwhile, the season finale had some other epic moments as well and ended with a cliffhanger that has left fans in anticipation for the third season.
Apart from Tramell Tillman, the show stars Adam Scott as Mark Scout, Britt Lower as Helly Riggs, John Turturro as Irving Bailiff, Dichen Lachman as Gemma Scout, Sarah Bock as Eustice Huang, Michael Chernus as Ricken Hale, Christopher Walken as Burt Goodman, and Patricia Arquette as Harmony Cobel in the main roles.
