Get ready for some suspense, passion and murder this March. BBC recently launched the trailer of the mystery drama series Towards Zero based on the novel by Agatha Christie. The series will premiere on BBC iPlayer on March 2, 2025. Towards Zero will revolve around a famous British tennis star who decides to spend the summer with his ex-wife and the chain of events that follow.

The 1944 detective murder mystery novel written by the celebrated author Agatha Christie is adapted for the screen by Rachel Bennette, who was previously nominated for a BAFTA for her work in the acclaimed adaptation of Zadie Smith’s novel NW for BBC 2.

As per the BBC, screenwriter Bennette said about Towards Zero,

"These are among the richest and most complex of Christie's characters, and I was captivated from the first by the charisma, in particular, of her female characters. It has been thrilling to bring them all to life in this disturbing tale of truth and lies, love and hate, a story which unfolds amidst the dark, cinematic glamour of the 1930s, yet feels startlingly of our time."

The three-part miniseries, which will be directed by the Olivier award-winning Sam Yates, will air weekly on BBC One. Towards Zero is produced by Agatha Christie Limited and Mammoth Screen, in a co-commission between the BBC and BritBox International.

Director Sam Yates said regarding the upcoming show,

"It has been an honour to bring this most psychological and sensual of Agatha Christie's stories to vibrant life with a peerless cast of actors and an extraordinary team. Audiences are in for a propulsive, intoxicating ride into the dark hearts of some of Christie's most irresistible characters."

What we know of Towards Zero

The story is set around the scandalous celebrity divorce of a British tennis star, Neville Strange. He and his ex-wife Audrey make a perplexing decision to spend the summer together.

A detective must cross through some unforeseen hurdles to solve the crime.

The series will be complete with an explosive love triangle, a formidable matriarch, and a house party of enemies as per the show’s rundown.
