Shark Tank star Barbara Corcoran opens up on The Jamie Kern Lima Show
In her recent interview at The Jamie Kern Lima Show, Shark Tank investor Barbara Corcoran discussed various topics.
The official synopsis for the podcast episode reads:
"Barbara Corcoran is an EMMY Award-winning Shark and Executive Producer on the show, she's the Founder of The Corcoran Group and is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the country! She's also sharp, quick-witted, and SO funny, and today, she's here to EMPOWER YOU to believe in your dreams and to know that your best days are ahead!"
One of the discussions was about how she got "tired" of being a victim and stopped looking for "excuses."
The investor further revealed that she had started her company with her then-boyfriend, who later left her. It happened after he left Barbara for his secretary, and Barbara wanted to split their business partnership.
After thinking she "couldn't succeed" without him, she felt motivated and gave her best. While leaving the "victim" mindset, Barbara further revealed:
"Anger got me to the decision because I always saw them having fun and having each other and planning their wedding. They were married very quickly. So I guess it was meant to be and I had no body, that's how I felt."
In her interview, the show star discussed how she makes her decisions.
She talked about the "emotional" step that lets people feel the "power," which she felt at the time while making the decision about her company.
"The best decisions are the ones where you are doing it from an emotional place of power and I think, I had become powerful in that moment."
However, the Shark Tank star added that the insult was "probably not the best motivation" to move further and keep going. She mentioned that it was her story and that it happened to her. Also, it prevented Barbara from feeling guilty for herself.
