Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 will officially wrap filming in a few months, and fans might see the sophomore season later in the year.
The show, based on the fantasy book series by Rick Riordan, was created by Riordian and Jonathan E. Steinberg and premiered in December 2023. The book series is already a huge hit among fans, and the show introduced Percy Jackson's lore to an even bigger audience.
The plot follows a demigod, Percy Jackson, played by Walker Scobell, who has to restore peace and order in Olympus after the mighty Greek god, Zeus, accuses him of stealing his thunderbolt. Season 2 will adapt the second book in the series, The Sea of Monsters, which will mark actual action in Percy and the other character's lives, as teased by Scobell in an interview with TV Insider:
"This season has a lot more action than last season for sure," he said.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians actor Walker Scobell opens up on Season 2
As per TV Insider, fans of the books will be in luck with Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2, as Scobell has teased that the sophomore season will have a lot more action than the previous season:
"I feel like last season was very much like, we would stay in one place and have conversation and then there’d be an action sequence, you know what I mean? It was awesome.''
He added:
''But this season, the stakes are higher for our characters, so it almost feels like there’s never a place where we just stop and talk. We’re almost always doing something, which I think it fits this book perfectly. There’s just so much at stake for our characters.”
Fans also have to look forward to the character of Tyson, Percy's half-brother, who Daniel Diemer will play in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2.
When talked about his experience of working with Diemer in the show's second season, Scobell opened up (via TV Insider):
“I was so excited the first day we did our audition together…he walked in and he had this necklace with a trident on it that he’s had for years before this. He was also a big Percy Jackson fan when he was younger, so yeah, I can’t imagine anyone else as Tyson. He just completely owned it.”
When asked about Percy and Annabeth's argument, Scobell teased:
“It gets resolved at the end, but I think we’re playing into the fact that we’ve all grown and our characters have spent a lot of time apart. So it’s like we all have these new dynamics. Our relationships with each other are very different.”
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 has no release date yet, but the season will drop on Disney+ in 2025.
