Netflix recently dropped an intriguing trailer for the limited series Sirens. The story of Sirens takes place across a sprawling seaside estate populated by the elite and the ultra-rich. Sirens stars Meghann Fahy, Julianne Moore, Milly Alcock, and Kevin Bacon in the leading roles.

While Fahy plays the character of Devon DeWitt, her younger sister Simone DeWitt is portrayed by Alcock. The trailer establishes the suspiciously tranquil environs of Cliff House, which is run by an equally mysterious Michaela Kell, played by Moore, who is also known as Kiki by her inner circle.

Here's everything that we know about the trailer and the upcoming show of Sirens on Netflix.

The recently released trailer for Sirens begins with Devon hiking up to the seaside town all the way from Buffalo, New York, over the course of Labor Day weekend. The reason behind this is Devon's mission to reunite with her sister Simone, who works at the Cliff House, so that she can break the news of their father's early-onset dementia.

However, once she arrives at the estate, things seem to be rather bizarre. There is a prevailing sense of unease beneath the entire layer of ultra-rich billionaires engaging in games of their own. Devon tries hard to determine whether Kiki is really Simone's savior or if her benevolent exterior is hiding a terrible secret underneath. The trailer further hints that the conflict between the two sisters will assume a significant share of the narrative of Sirens.

What's the latest buzz about Sirens?

Creator and executive producer Molly Smith Metzler of Maid fame recently revealed to Tudum the crux of the conflict on Sirens:

"Michaela and Simone are friends. They’re trauma-bonded. They’re codependent, but they also really need something from each other. And what they need from each other shifts throughout the show. This story has a lot of teeth. There are real moments of drama, and it’s going to make people uncomfortable.”

Fahy further commented:

"Sirens is really a show about relationships and the way people desperately try to outrun their past. We watch Simone run desperately away from who she is and who she really wants to be seen as, Devon becomes embarrassed. Simone starts calling out all of Devon’s bad habits, bad relationships, and the way that she mistreats herself.”

The show will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix from May 22.
