Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary is known for his straightforward and unfiltered opinions. Whether discussing the latest political developments, economic changes, or any topic in between, he doesn’t hold back. His bold statements often spark conversation and debate, making him a compelling figure in the world of business and beyond.
Pouncing right into the meat of the discussion, when the Fox Business reporter asked about his views on the Democrats' leadership regarding the economy, Kevin O'Leary remarked that what happened with the Democrats in the recent US elections was a "good thing." The Fox Business reporter presented a voters' poll on Democrats' focus on the economy and inflation, which reportedly showed their low confidence in the party.
Shark Tank judge claimed that their voters were hesitant to show faith in the Democrats. He stated:
"They should reboot. They really have to get rid of the old guard, the Pelosi, and the Obama, and movie stars like Clooney deciding who should be appointed in leadership. That last candidate was a disaster. Everybody knows that it's true. So run a process, start anew."
Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary believes the recent American election serves as a wake-up call for the Democrats
Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary seems dissatisfied with the "old" party leadership of the Democrats and advocates for an overhaul to address the concerns of their core voters, who appear to be losing trust in the party.
In the recent election in the United States of America, the voters elected a new leader, Republican Donald Trump, as their president. Trump returned as the 47th President of the US, winning the majority of the battleground seats. Citing Trump’s return to the office, O’Leary stated that he brought new energy to the country, though this remains a matter of debate.
However, O'Leary reserves his criticism for the Democrats, acknowledging that they lost touch with their voters, who probably did not vote for them, and swung toward Trump on election day.
He hopes to see some changes in the Democratic party's leadership which will bring the core ethics back. Echoing this sentiment, he said:
" They've gone so far off the tracks that nobody wants to vote for them, including Democrats don't wanna vote for them. So at the end of the day, it's reboot time, and they have to really look inwards to say, what does it mean to be a Democrat? It used to be the party of the people."
The United States Presidential elections took place on November 5, 2024.
