"They are huge fans" — Patrick Schwarzenegger shares his family's reaction to his casting in The White Lotus

Patrick Schwarzenegger recently shared an emotional moment when he broke the news to his family about landing a role in The White Lotus. He described this as a "dream come true" because his family has always been big fans of the show.

In the caption to a video the actor shared on Instagram, he wrote:

"My whole family are huge fans of the show and would always mess with me saying I needed to find a way to get onto this show."

In the video, the announcement left the family teary-eyed, with a mix of laughter and happiness when Patrick told them:

“I’m going to Thailand.”

The news led to screams, cries, and hugs from his loved ones. His mother, Maria Shriver, embraced him while repeatedly saying:

"I’m so happy for you."

At one point, Patrick wiped his tears and told his mom:

“You’re going to make me cry.”

Patrick admitted that it was tough keeping the secret before the official announcement, saying:

“At first, I was told I had to keep it a secret, but my family kept noticing me acting weird.”

Because of his behavior, Shriver even suspected that Patrick’s fiancée, Abby Champion, was pregnant.

Patrick expressed gratitude to The White Lotus creator Mike White and casting director Meredith Tucker for giving him the opportunity. He wrote:

“I hope you all enjoy the show as much as we did.”

The actor added:

“We put a lot of hard work into making it.”

He humbly acknowledged his role as just a small part of the show’s magic, stating:

“The other actors and actresses on the show are truly brilliant people and actors. It was a masterclass getting to learn from them.”

The third season of The White Lotus is set in Koh Samui, Thailand, at a fictional luxury wellness retreat. The show will follow a set of American travelers who seek peace, or perhaps escape, from their chaotic lives.

Patrick plays the eldest son of a wealthy family. Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey portray his parents, while his siblings are played by Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook.
