The White Lotus Season 3 sets a franchise record with all-time high premiere viewership

HBO's The White Lotus has returned for a highly anticipated season 3, and things are already looking great for the show that has managed to rake up an insanely high number of viewership. Based in Thailand, the new season brought in a new array of guests with more stories to unfold as they rejuvenate at The White Lotus hotel.

The streaming giant HBO Max reported that the show's premiere achieved a viewership of 2.4 million viewers, a number that only increased as it went up to 4.6 million viewers for all the streaming sites in the U.S. This shows a 57% hike in viewership as compared to last year's premiere, which was watched by 1.5 million viewers, and a 155% increase from the first season in 2021, which was watched by 944,000 viewers.

Season 1 of The White Lotus garnered 9.3 million viewers, while Season 2 attracted an average of 15.5 million, according to premium cable. The third season is well expected to surpass both of these numbers, considering its initial performance after debuting on screen.

The third season features Patrick Schwarzenegger, Natasha Rothwell, Jason Isaacs, Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Sarah Catherine Hook, Michelle Monaghan, Walton Goggins and Sam Nivola.

However, one of the highlights this season has been K-POP star Lalisa Manoban, who goes by the stage name LISA for Blackpink. The rapper made her acting debut on the show and has been appreciated by her work so far.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, the rapper, now actress said,

“I never imagined I’d be a part of The White Lotus, which I’m a fan of. It’s also my first time acting, so I’m really grateful."

She further added,

“It took so much time to finish one scene – wide, close-up, more close-up, so many angles! But everyone was really supportive and professional on set."
