MobLand has officially become the series on Paramount+ with the record premiere week for a global series. The series premiered on Paramount+ on March 30, 2025, and since its debut, it has brought in 8.8 million viewers, which is quadruple the number of its premiere day viewership. It appears as though the crime thriller has finally found its dedicated audience.
Following two crime families, the Harrigans and the Stevensons, MobLand focuses on how one single act of violence from either side can be responsible for bringing down both families into complete chaos. A tale of family, loyalty, and betrayal, the show has made history for Paramount+ with a 298% increase since launch week.
MobLand makes history for Paramount+
Paramount+'s press release describes its record-setting original series as
MOBLAND stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren in a story about two mob families who clash in a war that threatens to topple empires and lives.
The crime series MobLand premiered on March 30, 2025, with 2.2 million global viewers already making it Paramount+'s top original series with the highest viewership ever. The premiere day numbers were by themselves history for the Guy Ritchie-led show, but that was not enough for the show.
A week after its global premiere, the updated internal streaming numbers of Paramount+ reveal that the show has quadrupled its initial viewership in 7 days, from 2.2 million to 8.8 million viewers. The Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan starrer is breaking its own records for Paramount+.
The global premiere of MOBLAND delivered 8.8 million viewers in its first seven days, quadrupling its audience. This milestone marks the biggest global series launch week ever on Paramount+ up +298% from premiere day.
The viewership for Paramount+'s original series is up by 298% from its premiere day, as per numbers revealed by Paramount+'s internal streaming count. This global crime thriller is Guy Ritchie's first TV show for Paramount+, and if the viewership count keeps up for the show, it definitely won't be the only one. Creator and writer Ronan Bennett (The Day of the Jackal, Top Boy) co-wrote the crime show with Jez Butterworth (Spectre, Ford v Ferrari), making for a brilliant duo.
Along with Tom Hardy as Harry Da Souza, a contractor for the Harrigan family, the show has a great ensemble cast, including Helen Mirren, Joanne Froggatt, Paddy Considine, Anson Boon, Lara Pulver, Jasmine Jobson, Mandeep Dhillon, Daniel Betts, Geoff Bell, Emily Barber, and Lisa Dwan.
Commissioned by Paramount+ and produced in association with 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios, this series is on the top slot for Paramount+, with 1923 and Landmanas the other top two launches on the network to date.
