As confirmed by Ted Humphrey in an interview with Netflix's Tudum, the tables will turn in the upcoming chapter and Mickey will fight his own case. Humphrey said:

“Well, the biggest cliff-hanger of all is ‘What is going to happen to Mickey?’ and that one certainly plays out across the whole season in the form of his trial.”

He added:

“But in the first episode you’ll understand at least the broad strokes of what specifically has happened and what charges — and adversaries — Mickey is facing. This is going to be the biggest and most personal challenge Mickey has ever faced, and also the biggest roller coaster we’ve yet taken our audience on. And of course, our other characters will be dealing not only with Mickey’s case but with a slew of challenges they’re facing as well. ''

Humphrey also discussed how Mickey will have to follow the advice he has given throughout the three seasons of the show, and fans will enjoy seeing him on trial in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4. He elaborated:

“All the advice he’s given clients over the years, now he has to give himself — and he realizes how hollow some of it sounds when you’re the one it’s bouncing off of,”

Along with actors Garcia-Rulfo, Becki Newton, Angus Sampson, Jazz Raycole and Neve Campbell, who will return for Season 4, actor Constance Zimmer has joined the cast in The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4.

Zimmer will play the role of Dana Berg, Maggie's former colleague, nicknamed Death Row Dana. It will be interesting to see the challenges she will pose for Mickey in his trial.

Season 4 will consist of 10 episodes, which will be available to stream on Netflix.
