Great news for fans: Ted Lasso Season 4 has been confirmed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, on August 24, 2024, Warner Bros. Television renewed contracts for three stars—Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift—thanks to the U.K.'s Equity Union.

This moves the Emmy-winning soccer comedy closer to its next season after finishing its planned three seasons in May 2023. With the main cast's contracts all set, the focus is now on Jason Sudeikis, a key player as Ted Lasso and one of the show's co-creators, head writers, and executive producers.

Deadline was the first to break the news about Ted Lasso possibly returning. They said that whether the show continues depends on if Sudeikis decides to return for Ted Lasso Season 4.

Warner Bros. is getting the ball rolling on casting for Ted Lasso Season 4, but it hinges on Jason Sudeikis. Bill Lawrence, one of the show's creators, mentioned in August 2024 that Sudeikis' choice is important.

According to The Hollywood Reporter,

"He’s not just the main character and the creative brain behind the show; he’s also trying to figure out how to move his life around while co-parenting his two little kids with his ex, Olivia Wilde"

Lawrence expressed hope for Sudeikis's choice but remained pragmatic, saying,

"As fans, we’d all kill if it was going again, but everybody would say the same thing: Whatever Jason feels like doing, and whatever his decision is, we’re all down with it."

The show connects to Sudeikis' life, personally and professionally. As talks about Ted Lasso Season 4 are happening, it's apparent that Sudeikis' dedication will play a big role in whether the series returns to keep fans happy.

Warner Bros. Television, per Variety, has confirmed the original cast—Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift—will be back for Ted Lasso Season 4. Waddingham's Rebecca, Goldstein's Roy, and Swift's Leslie are still crucial players in the show.

It's about the fun and charming adventures of Ted Lasso, a laid-back college football coach from Kansas, who jumps into the deep end by coaching a British soccer team, even though he knows little about the game.

Now that these important players are in the mix, the next step is renegotiating contracts for the U.S. cast, including Brendan Hunt, Juno Temple, and Jason Sudeikis. Warner Bros. didn't have much to say about the negotiations, but Variety mentions that Sudeikis will likely still be involved somehow, even if he steps back from being the show's main star.
