Fans of The Big Bang Theory are in for a delightful surprise as the franchise is extending the universe with another spin-off, called Stuart Fails To Save The Universe.
After the success of Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, the studios are aiming for a new project. The latest spin-off will center around another Big Bang Theory character, Stuart Bloom, played by Kevin Sussman.
Bloom has been a recurring character on the show, as a comic book owner who has often been seen with Sheldon and his friends. He is portrayed as someone with low self-esteem and a weak personality, both of which often get in the way of his multiple endeavors and encounters with women. His health issues of depression and malnutrition also get space on screen and the spin-off will likely focus more on his life and how he turns it around.
Stuart Fails To Save The Universe is being produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Chuck Lorre serves as both producer and writer, having been the mastermind behind the previous projects in the franchise. He is joined by Zak Penn and Bill Prady, both of whom have previously worked on Big Bang Theory.
Not much is known about the show’s cast at the time of writing, but Lauren Lapkus, who stars as Stuart’s girlfriend Denise, Brian Posehn who stars as Bert Kibbler, and John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke are all set to return.
More details about the plot and its premise have been kept under wraps for now as the series is still under production.
Stuart Fails To Save The Universe: Everything we know

In 2019, shortly after The Big Bang Theory ended, fans were eager to know if the universe would be expanded any further. Chuck Lorre had responded to TVLine, saying
“Unless there was a creative reason to do it — a wonderfully, wonderfully creative reason to do it — than the only reason [to do it] is economics, and that’s not good enough. This is hard work. And if you’re going to do it, you gotta love what you’re doing; you’ve gotta be passionate about it. And if you’re just chasing money, that’s not enough.”
As for Stuart Fails To Save The Universe, the show has been under development for quite some time, but it was not known who will it revolve around. In 2023, Chuck Lorre gave fans an update via TVLine on the spin-off series they were working on as he said,
“It’s prenatal. You don’t talk about the birth until the second trimester, I believe, is the rule. That’s a long way of saying no, I’ve got nothing to say about it other than it’s something that we are discussing.”
More details on Stuart Fails To Save The Universe are awaited for now.
