Star Wars: Visions, the acclaimed and popular Star Wars anthology series, will return for a third season.

The nine-episode anthology series will be made accessible on October 25, 2025. Moreover, this season will see the return of the fan-favorite character Ronin, who used to be a Sith Lord in the first season.

The character was seen in the very first episode of Star Wars: Visions Season 1, "The Duel." His return is a pleasant surprise for fans because Ronin was supposed to be a one-off character.

This news was confirmed at the Star Wars Celebration event on April 20, 2025. James Waugh, the executive producer of Star Wars: Visions, revealed to the fans attending the event that “The Village Bride”, “The Ninth Jedi”, and “The Duel”, the three acclaimed plotlines from the very first season, will continue in the upcoming third season.

Moreover, Waugh also unveiled the Star Wars: Visions Presents banner, promising bold new plans for the Visions brand. This is very similar to the Marvel Spotlight banner that signalled to the viewers and fans that these stories are comparatively more standalone and they need not tie into the overall continuity.

James Waugh said that the Star Wars: Visions Presents banner would allow storytellers to explore deeper stories without the usual limited runtime of a Visions episode. Thus, longform stories might be possible under this anthology banner. The first of these will be a spinoff titled “The Ninth Jedi”, releasing on an unspecified date in 2026.

We also know who will be directing the follow-ups of the popular Star Wars: Visions Season 1 storylines:

At the celebration, the EP of Star Wars: Visions also revealed the titles to the follow-up episodes of “The Village Bride”, “The Ninth Jedi”, and “The Duel”. The titles for these episodes are “The Lost Ones” (the continuation of “The Village Bride”), "The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope" (the continuation of “The Ninth Jedi”), and “The Duel: Payback” (the continuation of "The Duel").

Furthermore, the filmmakers helming the three episodes were also revealed at the event. Anime studio Kamikaze Douga's Takanobu Mizuno will be directing the episode “The Duel: Payback”. “The Lost Ones” is helmed by director Hitoshi Haga, who is from Kinema Citrus. Finally, Naoyoshi Shiotani, who is a part of Production IG, will be the helmer for "The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope".

Waugh said this:

“In general, Visions is a concept that really came from a passion for the animated medium.”

He continued:

“I think we’ve always deeply admired the craftsmen that bring such great storytelling through animation. And so, as we were talking about how we could celebrate that, we ended up coming up with a concept really focused on anime and really focused on celebrating Star Wars through the anime perspective through the idea of really giving Japanese culture a spotlight within Star Wars and its influence on Star Wars in general.”

The first two seasons of Star Wars: Visions are available to stream on Disney+.
