Star Sophie Nélisse reveals the arc for Shauna in the upcoming Yellowjackets Season 3

The recently dropped trailer for Yellowjackets season three has caused a stir among fans of the Showtime show. As the third installment of Yellowjackets gears up to premiere this Valentine's Day, actress Sophie Nélisse, who plays the character of Shauna, recently dropped quite a few telling details about her character arc.

As per the teaser and trailer for Yellowjackets season three, Shauna has undergone some major trauma, and thereafter, her behavior towards the other survivors who are stranded together has become untenable.

Sophie Nélisse was recently promoting Two Women at the ongoing Sundance Film Festival when she spoke to Collider Ladies Night host Peri Nemiroff. While explaining Shauna's mental state in the upcoming season, Nélisse remarked:

"It's been really fun. She's had such a beautiful arc every season. I think Season 2 really showcased all of the grief, and she's undergone so much loss, and I think she's kind of isolated herself from the group. So now, we find her in Season 3 at a place in her life where she's got nothing else to lose. She is in so much pain, but she can't handle it herself, so I think she needs to let go of that anger on other people. So I think she'll be very unhinged and very scary, very unpredictable, and like I said, nothing to lose. So, she's kind of unstoppable this season."

What to expect from season 3?

The full trailer builds on a previous, terrifying teaser that indicated the upcoming season would consist of both a haunting and hunting, as the hit Showtime show continues to follow the survivors across dual timelines: the first being present-day in 2021 with Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, and Simone Kessell; and the second being the 1996 crash timeline with their younger counterparts and other survivors played by Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty etc.

After losing one of their central survivors in the season two finale episode, which resulted in star Juliette Lewis' departure from the series, and naming her younger counterpart as their recognized leader in the past timeline, the third season is expected to begin with the Yellowjackets soccer team's wilderness survivors enduring through the winter.
