Here's everything that we know.

Squid Game season 3 first look images analyzed

Netflix released a batch of five fresh and new images that appear to be snapshots from the upcoming third season of the South Korean thriller show. Here's our in-depth analysis delving into the hidden meanings contained in the photos.

1) Gi-hun in handcuffs

The first image shows Gi-hun sitting down helpless, handcuffed to a bunk bed, staring at a blurry entity. This seems to be in the aftermath of the abortive rebellion to disrupt the games and neutralize the VIP patrons. This is the note on which the second season of Squid Game had ended. It remains to be seen whether the third season will see the rebellion being successful.

2) Hyun-ju opens a coffin

Player 120, or Hyun-ju, is seen opening the lid of a coffin. In what seems to be a deeply sorrowful moment, the mother and son duo Jang Geum-ja and Park Yong-sik look on, shedding tears. The rest of the contestants of the game look on in the background.

While the identity of the person inside the coffin remains unclear, it can be speculated that it's Jung-bae after he was mercilessly executed by the Front Man at the end of the second season.

3) No-eul without her mask

No-eul is seen without her mask on what appears to be the grounds of the island where the game takes place. No-eul was presented as the guard with a moral compass who stood up against the ring of organ traffickers.

4) The Front Man in the VIP room

In a rare moment never yet explored fully by Squid Game, the Front Man is seen in his full attire and mask, sitting inside the colorful and flamboyantly decorated VIP room. This room houses VIP patrons who indulge in the inhuman act of watching the games in real time.

5) The Front Man without his mask

Another image of the Front Man shows him in his own room without his mask. The Front Man's facial expression hints that he's conflicted, and this might just be an indication of his veneer finally falling apart.

Squid Game season three airs on June 27.
