Calling all K-drama lovers! Netflix is set to dive into the golden age of South Korean entertainment through Show Business, an all-new upcoming period drama. Since the show is currently under work, not much has been revealed about the exact plot.
However, we do know that Squid Game star Gong Yoo (who played Salesman), globally renowned actress Song Hye-kyo (Descendants of the Sun), Kim Seol-hyun (Light Shop), and Cha Seung-won (One Ordinary Day) have been finalized to play key characters in the drama.
The story of Show Business centers around Song Hye-kyo's Min-ja and her childhood friend Dong-gu. The woman has faced notable changes in her childhood and is now thriving to become one of the rising stars in the music industry.
However, her friendship with Dong-gu is often put to the test as they both work in the same industry, trying hard to prove how talented and skilled they are. Actor Gong Yoo is known for his ability to play distinct characters like Kim Shin in Goblin, Salesman in Squid Game, and more.
Similarly, Song Hye-kyo is one of the highly acclaimed actresses of South Korea who won hearts globally through her role as Mo-Yeon in Descendants of the Sun alongside her ex-husband Song Joong-ki. She has appeared in several other shows including The Glory and Now We Are Breaking Up.
The creative team behind the upcoming period drama includes Noh Hee-young as the writer, with Lee Yoon-jung in the director's chair.
