Apple TV+ unveiled the official trailer for Side Quest, the popular comedy series Mythic Quest's spin-off show.

The four-episode anthology series will act as a companion to the parent series and will contain standalone episodes. All four episodes of Side Quest will drop alongside the Mythic Quest Season 4 finale on March 26, 2025. The official logline for the spin-off series reads as follows:

''It explores the lives of employees, players, and fans who are impacted by the game in an anthology format.”

Mythic Quest, created by Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz, is an office comedy series exploring the lives of employees in a fictional video game studio that developed the titular MMORPG.

Side Quest will be led by an ensemble cast led by McElhenney, who will be joined by Anna Konkle, Derek Waters, William Stanford Davis, Bria Henderson, Gary Kraus, Annamarie Kasper, Shalta Grant and more, who will star in each episode.

The trailer features Ian's earring, which director Ashly Burch said became canon (via Comic Book Resources). She also plays the character of Rachel in the original series.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Burch discussed how each episode will be standalone:

''We filmed Side Quest first, so Ian's earrings became canon. With Side Quest, they really all are independently self-contained episodes. We talked a lot about what we had done with that show going into Mythic Quest -- if there was anything that we wanted to pull forward.''

She added:

''You don't need to know really anything about Mythic Quest to enjoy them. If you do watch Mythic Quest, then there's a lot that you'll notice, like and enjoy based on knowing the show.''

Side Quest is developed by Burch, alongside John Howell Harris and Katie McElhenney. Rob McElhenney, Hornsby, Day, Todd Biermann, Frenkel, Rotenberg, Boykin, and Genevieve Jones serve as executive producers.

With Mythic Quest Season 4 coming to a conclusion, makers are already expanding the universe with companion shows, which will be a treat for fans. Co-creator Meghan Ganz discussed the approach for Season 4 (via Comic Book Resources):

''We want the characters to move. We want to do things that make people feel like the story is over and then show them how the story can continue. We just try to have a lot of movement with the characters, so that people feel that they’re growing and not just treading water.''
