Since Love is Blind UK stars Ollie and Demi parted ways, there have been various talks about what happened between the couple after the show ended. Fans must remember that the finale episodes of the show featured wedding ceremonies, one of which was for Ollie and Demi's.
However, the couple didn’t get married as Demi didn’t want to move forward with Ollie then. Additionally, a recently released reunion episode of the show confirmed that the couple was no longer together.
Love is Blind UK star Ollie Sutherland recently attended a podcast, Jess A Couple Things, with Jessie Woo on August 26, 2024. He talked at length about many things, including his connection with Demi, Catherine, and Sharlotte and things that happened after the show ended.
When Jessie asked the reason behind choosing Demi to move forward on the show and not choosing Catherine, Ollie shared,
"So again, with Cat, it was like I spoke about this on the show itself. It’s like she was giving more flirty vibes, and it was…there didn’t seem to be as much depth. We did speak about some deeper things that didn’t really get shown. Because obviously, she’s adopted, and she talked about that."
Love is Blind UK star Ollie shares his connection with Catherine during the pods
The host shared that seeing the chemistry between Ollie and Catherine on the show during the pods' phase, she thought, "They’re gonna ride off into the sunset." But then, after Demi’s entry, as the viewer, she loved Demi immediately. She also mentioned how Demi was "all in" for Ollie.
"Well, you were going to get off of the Catherine train anyway because we kind of do see where things with you and Demi are going," shared the host, Jessie.
The host then asked Ollie what made him decide Demi was “the one” and Catherine wasn’t.
Love is Blind UK star said that although he felt "more flirty vibes" from Catherine when they were in the pods, he strongly connected with Catherine because Ollie’s mother was also adopted, similar to Catherine. So, as Ollie shared, that was a mutual interest on which both connected.
Ollie and Jessie then discussed how everyone on the show, being the UK version, had an "accent" and how it came off. After hearing him and his accent, he said that Catherine correctly guessed a few things during their first blind date.
"I don't want to like brag about myself, it felt like as soon as I stepped in and she heard my accent, and she could tell where I was from and what I might look like. If you get what I'm saying, that seemed like the pool to her rather than like anything I'd said," added Ollie.
Later, they discussed how things unraveled after the pods phase was finished, how the engaged couples were sent to Greece for the couples retreat, and more.
Fans can stream Love is Blind UK on Netflix and explore how couples got to know each other, from blind dates to wedding ceremonies.
