According to an exclusive report by Deadline, American actress Shailene Woodley has been added to Hulu's Paradise Season 2.
The actress, who has been nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, has proved her acting chops in various projects of all genres. Woodley is best known for her roles in The Fault in Our Stars, Big Little Lies, The Descendants, Divergent, The Spectacular Now, and many more.
She recently starred in Starz's limited series Three Women and made her Broadway debut with Cult of Love.
While her latest role in Paradise Season 2 is currently kept under wraps, her character (currently unnamed) would be in connection to Sterling K. Brown's Agent Xavier's mission, as seen in the Season 1 finale. Reportedly, Woodley will play one of the survivors Xavier will find on his trip to the surface.
Hulu's Paradise, a post-apocalyptic political thriller series, debuted in January 2025 and quickly climbed Hulu's Top charts and became the network's No. 1 series. The show was renewed for Season 2 in February 2025.

Shailene Woodley to join the cast of Paradise Season 2
The show, which stars Brown, Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, and James Marsden in the main roles, follows a post-apocalyptic world in which the prominent individuals of the country live in an underground bunker following a catastrophic event on the earth's surface.
The death of a prominent political figure causes chaos in this utopia, and Agent Xavier is tasked with finding the truth.
The Season 1 finale finally saw the discovery of President Cal's murderer, following which Sinatra was put in an induced coma by her assistant.
The show ended on a cliffhanger, following which Xavier set on a mission to find out the truth about the surface and whether his wife Teri is still alive, as Sinatra claimed.
Considering Paradise Season 2 will largely revolve around Xavier's search for Teri and other survivors, Woodley's character could prove important in his mission. As teased by Brown in an interview with Variety, Season 2 would introduce some survivors, and it looks like Woodley would be one of them:
“Structurally, we’ll be introduced to people on the outside and then sort of flashback in their lives as well,”
Showrunner Dan Fogelman also teased about Paradise Season 2, saying (via Variety):
“There’s a much larger, propulsive and hopefully satisfying story ahead of us when you look at the big three-season arc of the show.”
