To be precise, the numbers in the U.S. tally up close to 600 million minutes of viewership, and almost one-third of it is owed to the second season of Severance.

Moreover, Severance has also fetched new viewers post the Season 2 premiere ( in the period between January 17 to February 17). The sci-fi show is ranked number four on Nielsen’s Top 10 Originals list. According to reports, Severance has bagged over $200 million for Apple TV owing to its first season.

More about Severance

Severance revolves around the story of a man named Mark (portrayed by Adam Scott) who takes up a job at Lumon Industries, a large-scale organization. He seemingly works for a corporate archives department but is actually under a 'severance' program that splits individuals' consciousness into two parts - an innie, who does the work for Lumon's secret activities, and an outie, who is the actual person in the outside world.

Mark lost his wife in a tragic incident; hence, working for Lumon has helped him forget things that haunt him. However, darker secrets await him as he gets more involved with the nuances of the corporate giant, and excitement is already peaking among fans as the Season 2 finale nears.

Dan Erickson has created the show for Apple TV alongside helmer and Emmy Award-winning star Ben Stiller. Severance Season 2 finale is set for a March 21 premiere on Apple TV+.
