Secrets We Keep trailer drops as Netflix leaves tense glimpses from the upcoming crime drama 

Secrets We Keep is the latest six-part crime thriller series from Denmark on Netflix. Secrets We Keep recently dropped an intriguing first look trailer that effectively establishes the tone and premise, hyping up expectations regarding the show. The story of Secrets We Keep follows Cecilie as she gets embroiled in the mysterious disappearance of a Filipino au pair from one of Copenhagen's most elite neighborhoods.

What's the latest buzz about Secrets We Keep's trailer?

The trailer sets Secrets We Keep as a high-octane mystery thriller. The trailer begins in an otherwise affluent neighborhood north of Copenhagen, where Cecilie and her family live along with their neighbors, where the Filipino au pair Ruby works. One night, Ruby is seen asking Cecilie for help, however, the latter brushes her off. Things are then set in motion as Ruby mysteriously goes missing, leaving her passport and cash untouched. As Cecilie seeks to uncover the mystery, she is met with cynicism and even resistance by her neighbors.

What is Secrets We Keep all about?

The official Netflix synopsis of the show reads:

"When the young Filipino au pair Ruby disappears from one of Denmark's most affluent neighborhoods north of Copenhagen, the neighbor, Cecilie, becomes convinced that something has happened to her. Cecilie's au pair, Angel, begins to investigate the rumors circulating, while suspicions of a crime grow. However, the case of the missing foreigner is a low priority for the police, and the newly minted investigator Aicha needs all the assistance she can get."

The synopsis further reveals:

"Cecilie and Angel are ready to help, and gradually the power structures and privileges within the beautiful homes start to expose. Yet, Cecilie's commitment to uncovering the truth is put to the test when Ruby's disappearance reveals connections reaching into Cecilie's own family. She is forced to confront her blind spots and view her family and the environment in which she is raising her children in a whole new light."

Marie Bach Hansen stars in the leading role of Cecilie, which also marks her Netflix debut. Alongside her are Danica Curcic, Simon Sears, Lars Ranthe, Lukas Zuperka, and Sara Fanta Traore, among others.

Showrunners open up about Secrets We Keep

The Netflix show is created by Ingeborg Topsøe of The Charmer fame and features Per Fly as the director. As per Netflix's official press release, Topsøe stated:

"I enjoy experimenting with the genre because it requires the audience’s full attention, and placing a crime story in this particular setting is especially compelling. What happens when care and intimacy within the home are outsourced to an au pair? What does that stir in us - and in those closest to us? Does it reveal the best in us, or the worst?"
