School Spirits Season 2 concluded a few days ago, and since then many fans might have been curious about the show's future. The creators and showrunner recently opened up about the idea of expanding the story, hinting a potential Season 3.
The supernatural mystery drama follows Maddie Nears, a teenage girl who's shocked to learn about her abrupt death and finds herself stuck in the afterlife at her high school. Unlike typical ghost stories, School Spirits highlights Maddie's determination to find the truth and investigate crimes.
During her journey, she meets other ghosts tied to the high school, with each of them having a unique story. Maddie joins the ghostly support group led by Mr. Martin, and gradually befriends Charley, Rhonda, and Wally.
At the same time, her best friends are searching for answers and they suspect a few including Maddie's ex-boyfriend. However, it's revealed that another ghost named Janet took control of Maddie's body, leaving her trapped as a ghost.
In School Spirits Season 2, the story continues as Maddie fights for her body. The season is filled with twists and major events, with Simon's fate left uncertain being the major one.

School Spirits creator teases major supernatural developments for Season 3
During an interview, showrunner Oliver Goldstick and creators Megan and Nate Trinrud opened up about School Spirits Season 2 and their plans for a third season. It's revealed that Maddie’s father’s ghost is now visible to someone new, which is unusual because only certain people could see ghosts before.
This suggests major changes in the ghost world possibly making spirits more visible. Nate Trinrud said:
"Something is going on in Split River. We’ve gotta get to the bottom of it."
Following the creator's tease, Goldstick added:
"That’s a preview for Season 3. There is a legacy of that school that we have to explore. It’s gotta be cracked open, and Simon may be able to do it from the inside, so to speak."
The showrunner's comments suggest that Split River might have a deep supernatural history, and if this happens to be true, fans would love to explore more. Additionally, Nate Trinrud confirmed that the hospital is another supernatural hub:
"And now we know with the hospital that there are more of these hubs. There are more of these places around town that really have activity, and what does that mean?"
