On September 4, 2024, Netflix released the much-awaited show, Outlast Season 2. The survival show's finale episodes were released on September 11, 2024. As it approached its end, the Bravo Team winners, Drew Haas, and Drake Vliem, won the title and the prize pot, a million dollars.
As viewers are already aware, the Netflix show is a "thirst for adventure" where participants compete against each other in harsh weather conditions while living in the Alaskan wilderness. After the show ended and the winners reached the comfort of their homes, both Drew and Drake returned to their "normal" routine lives.
However, things have been challenging for both of the winners. As shared during the post-winning interview with Netflix, Drew and Drake opened up about how their bodies underwent drastic changes affecting their physique and stamina.
"It felt like my legs weren't under me. I was running off of 100% adrenaline there," shared Drew.
Outlast Season 2: Drew opens up about the challenges he faced before and after the survival show
Drew and Drake won the show despite facing various challenges and extreme conditions before Outlast Season 2's final episodes dropped on September 11 and announced the winning duo.
Before joining the show, Drew gained 10 pounds while he prepared his body for the survival show. He "lost 30 pounds" during Outlast Season 2 despite his efforts.
While reaching the show's finale, Drew's body endured "a lot of pain." He felt as if his legs "weren't" under himself. For Drake, he went through,
"The everything diet, where I ate everything I could fit in my mouth."
However, Drake, too, lost a shocking 52 pounds before the show's finale. Even though he had lost many pounds, he felt "strong" before the final challenge.
Drake mentioned how his show partner Drew was a "much-needed" emotional support throughout the show.
"I had a really strong feeling that as long as I had Drew with me (after we) established that bond in those first couple days, we were going to win, just me and him," shared Drake.
He added,
"Drew taught me a lot about going into other people's situations with an open mind and to not judge, and that's something that I'll keep with me for the rest of my life."
On the other hand, Drew, in his interview with Netflix, shared that he had witnessed Drake's "homesickness" and "devotion" to his family throughout Outlast Season 2.
Seeing Drake talking about his family and kids and how much they all meant to him, Drew also felt like he wanted to be "that" for "somebody."
Netflix has released all the Outlast Season 2 episodes on the streaming platform.
