"Reminded me of my brother"—Love is Blind: Germany's Alina talks about her date with Ilias

A new spin-off of the classic dating show, Love is Blind: Germany, kicked off its first season on Netflix on January 3. The show begins with 30 singles from around the country going on multiple dates in search of their future spouse based on the connections they build over conversations, without knowing how they look.

In the first episode of Love is Blind: Germany, Alina, a 28-year-old account manager, builds a connection on her first date with Ilias, a 27-year-old real estate agent. The two instantly connected over sharing the same zodiac sign, Gemini.

Further, as Alina reveals her spiritual side, Ilias shares his interest in spiritual people and how he only got to the show because he got this feeling of this partner being here in the pod. He also talks about his fear of flights and how it was just the calling that made them overcome it.

Ilias shares his experience with Alina with his friends in the pod.

"So, a lot of shared values. I think it's crazy how she said a few things that's exactly how I sometimes describe myself to my friends, like the same things I'd say."

Alina too sits down with Shella, another woman in the pods, to express her emotions. She talks about how she appreciates successful people and how Love is Blind: Germany's Ilias shares a similar mindset as her brother's.

"Ilias totally reminded me of my brother, in terms of his mindset." She continues, "I like successful people because, in my opinion, or at least, with the ones that I know, they always work on themselves, which I think is cool. They reflect a lot. They are driven. They have goals. And that's really important."

What happened with Alina and Ilias on Love is Blind: Germany?

Love is Blind: Germany's Alina and Ilias connected on their very first date. Though they did explore a few other connections in the pod, they kept coming back to each other.

The two got so comfortable with each other that Alina ended up opening up about her past relationship experience. She revealed how she has always been unlucky in love and how she learned a lot from her experiences. Though Ilias even mentioned how he felt this relationship was too good to be true, he still couldn't think of any red flags. He stated,

"Honestly, I haven't found anything about Alina where I'd say, 'That doesn't work.' But to me, there's no such thing as perfect. There's always something that's not quite right."

The two did hit a rock when Ilias opened up about his infidelity in a past relationship, but the two overcame that. After a few dates, Ilias decided it was the right time to make a decision and ended up proposing to Alina for marriage, to which she said yes!

The couple will be testing their relationship in the real world now.
