Netflix's Cobra Kai has been immensely successful, both in terms of television success and influencing fans and the current generation.
As Cobra Kai nears its end with the third part of the sixth season, Ralph Macchio sat down for a chat about the series finale, and the impact it had on the current generation.
Talking to TODAY about the series' ending, the actor gave a glimpse into what the finale is about and what he's most excited about.
"So the end of episode 610 ended with a tragedy. In sort of this, Sekai Taikai, which is the Karate Olympics kid gets fatally hurt and winds up not surviving. And so we're at this place where the characters, certainly my character wants to just shed that from his life. It's time to put Karate behind him.
He continued,
But as always in these karate soap operas, there's going to be a way that we are going to get to this victorious conclusion and that's what I'm really excited about now."
The actor then talked about the generational impact the show has had on fans and added,
"You know, you don't want to overstay your welcome and we've had such a great resurgence and you know, we were just talking about multigenerational impact. Whereas they call these four-quadrant shows where you have three- four generations. It's kind of wonderful and unique to pay the legacy forward and then create new fans."

When Cobra Kai ends, years from now, people will look back on the different episodes, these last five that are coming out are gonna have to be in a lot of the fans' minds. It's just one of those things where we're excited. There's new episodes still coming out, with a lot of big, fulfilling, climactic moments.
