The episode of Netflix's Preacher still has many perplexed at the dark twist involving Eugene and Tracy Loch. This was a confession gone disturbingly wrong in Season 1 of the show. Tracy was seen confiding in Eugene after ending things with Tucker, with her head on Eugene's shoulder.

A love-sick Eugene considered it a sign and kissed her without warning, leaving Tracy befuddled. Tracy beckoned Eugene to give her an explanation of his actions resulting in him hinting at wanting a relationship. As the realization of his feelings hit her, Tracy's expression transformed into that of repulsion.

Her face morphs into that of disgust and without a moment's notice, she grabs the shotgun from beside the bed and shoots herself in the head! However, as the show unravels - this was a backstory of the events which caused Tracy to be in the coma-like state she's in during the first few episodes of Preacher.

However, in episode 8 of Season 2, an entirely different version of the day unfolds between Eugene and Tracy. Instead of Tracy shooting herself, she was bittersweet about it. Cue plot twist: Eugene was gobsmacked upon learning of her alleged affair with the preacher himself from Tracy.

Unable to take the betrayal, the scene continues with the preacher and Tracy sharing a steamy kiss while Eugene watches on scathingly. Shortly after, the preacher handed that same shotgun to Eugene.

He then beckoned him to shoot Tracy instead for 'sinning against him.' Eugene finds himself in an epic conundrum with the scene building up to the point where he's pushed to pull the trigger. But, he never does.

Unable to face her disgruntled mother, and heartbroken at Tracy's rejection, Eugene decides to end his life. Just as he positioned the gun under his chin and pulled the trigger - it didn't fire. Perplexed, Eugene tried to inspect the gun when suddenly, it fired in his mouth. This rendered him with a disfigured face which later earned him a nickname called by all his peers - 'Arseface'
