The Percy Jackson And The Olympians series on Disney+ received a massive update on the evening of March 14, 2025. Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan's official blog confirmed that a season 3 based on the third book in the series, The Titan's Curse is officially greenlit. Other than formally green-lighting Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 3, the official release window for Season 2 was also revealed.
Like the first season, Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2 will begin streaming on Disney+ in December 2025 and conclude in January 2026. The second season will revolve around Percy and Annabeth's adventure to The Sea of Monsters to find the Golden Fleece. The said mythical fleece can help in healing the poisoned Thalia’s tree, which reinforces the protective magical barriers to keep monsters out of Camp Half-Blood.
Explain Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 3's early renewal:
While we wait for an official premiere date for Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2, it looks like the Olympian hero's journey will continue to unfold on-screen as Disney officially green-lit Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 3. This early renewal isn't that surprising because the first season performed strongly on Disney+.
This strong performance of the first season was even acknowledged in the president of Disney Television Ayo Davis' statement while green-lighting season 3. It read:
“From the moment ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ debuted, it was clear this series had struck a chord with fans of all ages. With season two set to premiere this December, we’re thrilled to announce that Percy’s journey will continue with a third season. Huge thanks to our incredible cast and creative team, our partners at 20th Television, and our visionary and talented producers who continue to bring Rick Riordan’s world to life with such depth and imagination.”
Rick Riordan confirms fan-favorite characters for Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 3:
Author Rick Riordan in his statement on Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 3 renewal confirmed the debut of fan-favorite book characters like Nico di Angelo and Hunters of Artemis. His statement read:
“We’re so grateful to be continuing the story of Percy Jackson on Disney+. This third season will be new territory for the screen, bringing fan favorites like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life for the first time. It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show. Thank you, demigods worldwide!”
While he did not include Nico's sister Bianca di Angelo's name, there's a good chance that she will also appear in the third season, as we hear a kid (probably Nico) call out that name in the sixth episode of the first season "We Take a Zebra to Vegas". The two children of Hades play a huge role in the Percy Jackson book series, having fans excited for the show.
