Hulu's political thriller, Paradise, might have concluded with an epic Season 1 finale for now, but this was not the last we heard of Xavier Collins.
Season 2 was already greenlit earlier, and now, as confirmed by the show's lead actor, Sterling K. Brown, creator Dan Fogelman might have another season under his sleeve (via TV Insider):
“In terms of big twists coming in, I can tell you this, [Dan] has conceived, as a show, three seasons”
Brown, who has also worked with Fogelman on the hit NBC family drama series, This Is Us, added that the creator promised six seasons of the NBC drama, which he did, and he will repeat that vision with his next (with a three-season run):
“He said on This Is Us, ‘I’ve got six seasons in my head.’ We did six seasons, and it went that way. And I think for him, and the way that he pitched it to me, it’s sort of like an exploration of similar events from different standpoints”
It looks like fans will get an additional two seasons of the political series after the Season 1 finale.
Sterling K. Brown on Paradise's future Seasons
Paradise concluded its Season 1 with an epic finale, which finally solved the murder mystery of President Cal, and Xavier nabbed the killer.
But things are not alright for the Special Agent as he now has a big task. After reuniting with his daughter, Presley, he leaves the dome in the Season 1 finale to enter the outside world and look for his wife, Teri, who is still alive, as per Sinatra.
In the interview with TV Insider, Brown discussed what can people expect from Season 2:
“We know what the billionaires and the people of power did. They built a city, right? Then we found out in [Episode 4] that there’s still breathable air. You see in [Episode 7] that the nukes did not go off, that there’s still life as we know it but maybe very different because the natural disaster still transpired. ''
He added:
''So I think in Season 2, the idea is to explore what happened to the rest of the world, what does that look like?”
After the intense finale moments of Season 1, the show is headed in a new direction for Season 2, where Xavier will try to explore what happened after the catastrophe and whether his wife is alive. With Brown's update on a three-season run for Paradise, things will get more problematic for his character.
