Netflix’s popular dating reality show Love is Blind UK Season 1 concluded on August 21, 2024.
The show featured contestants finding their potential partners and going through various phases together, from blind dates to spending quality time during The Couple’s Retreat, and eventually meeting their families and getting married.
The first ever couple to get engaged on Love is Blind UK was Sabrina Egerton and Steven Smith. Even though the couple got married on the show, they parted ways later, as revealed during the show’s reunion episode.
Recently, Sabrina shared how she has been receiving "congratulations" messages and more via a podcast, The Bellissimo Files, on August 29, 2024.
The host, Sarina Bellissimo, and Love is Blind UK star, discussed a few things that have happened since the show ended and how she has been dealing with various responses and comments from everyone.
"Overwhelmed. It’s a lot, I’m not going to lie. I guess having your whole life air to the world is fine when it’s going well. But when it’s not, it's not as easy. But there’s also an amount of relief that comes with it because obviously I had been holding on to everything for so long, and you know."
Love is Blind UK star Sabrina Egerton opens up about receiving messages from everyone
During her recent appearance on Sarina Bellissimo’s podcast, Sabrina shared that even though she and Steven were no longer together, they had to keep everything under wraps until the Love is Blind UK reunion episode was revealed.
As a result, viewers and fans had no idea that the couple was no longer together and were sending congratulatory messages.
"When you’re having a really difficult or painful day, you can’t exactly explain to people why, and then in between stage getting loads of congratulatory message and like, so I’m just, oh my gosh, it was, it was really I, that’s why I took myself away for few days and just stayed off my phone because it was too much and so, there’s a real sense of relief now," shared Sabrina.
However, she also revealed that her closest friends and some family members knew about the current relationship dynamics between Sabrina and Steven.
"Obviously, there was a certain amount of people who knew because we were able to have a certain amount of friends and family at the wedding, so they had obviously all signed NDAs as well, but to be honest, Sarina, I actually really isolated myself from my friends and family when it initially happened because I think there was this sense of like failure and embarrassment that it had only lasted a couple of months," revealed Sabrina.
Later when Netflix released the Love is Blind UK reunion on August 26, 2024, everyone learned about what happened between Sabrina and Steven, and that they were no longer together.
Talking about the reunion, Sabrina shared that it was "a chance and an opportunity" for her to speak her truth and have her "closure."
Love is Blind UK Season 1 and a special reunion episode are streaming on Netflix.
