Last year, NBC Universal Entertainment president Lisa Katz stated in a press release:
"It's been more than ten years since the final episode of The Office aired on NBC, and the acclaimed comedy series continues to gain popularity and build new generations of fans on Peacock."

The Office follow-up series to bring back Oscar Núñez in his iconic role

The Office concluded in 2013, yet Dunder Mifflin and its employees remain some of the most beloved characters of all time. Be it the inappropriate regional manager Michael Scott or the intelligent and sarcastic accountant Oscar Martinez, each character had a unique personality.
The NBC sitcom is inspired by the British series by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, and Greg Daniels reimagined it for American audiences. Now, after more than a decade, reports suggest the return of Oscar Núñez in The Paper.
While the upcoming show will introduce new characters and storylines, the makers will ensure the charm that made the U.S. version a big hit. As for other cast members, NBC has only confirmed Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore to appear in the new show.
Since details about The Paper are limited, there's no confirmed release date. However, we do know that fans are excited about how its characters and humor will compare to Dunder Mifflin’s iconic employees.
