Referring to her elimination on the fifth episode of The Challenge 40, Emily Schromm shared,

"So it’s just, I’m very excited, Johnny, and I will say that’s my biggest thing with Laurel and like the disappointment that I have and like how this all went down and even the elimination, like, I’m not going to play victim, like, it is what it is. The Challenge spit me out. But I was so excited to get this money in order to bring this to life, right? And like, it’s just what it is."

In Johnny Bananas podcast - Death, Texas, and Bananas, released on September 19, 2024, Johnny got to talk to recently eliminated player Emily Schromm.

When Johnny mentioned how Emily’s competitor Tina “pulled” all the nails out during the fifth episode’s elimination task, Emily shared,

"So you know in “human design.” You’re a manifesting generator. I’m a generator. Tina is the only manifester in the house. So manifesters actually do have the ability to really like; you have some of it. She’s the one who can be like, ‘I want this,’ and then it can make, she can make it happen."

She added that things worked out, despite she was “bummed” Emily “almost caught up” with Tina during the task. She mentioned how she later had a “sinking feeling,”

"You can see how close I got, but I was also just like, it was just a sinking feeling. I don’t even think I said bye to you. I was so disappointed, you know."

However, despite everything that happened, Emily was eliminated after volunteering for the task; she said she wouldn’t “play victim.”

When Johnny asked Emily about volunteering for the task, she said many people had questioned her.

The Challenge 40 alum Emily Schromm shared,

"Think of it this way, for people who are like, ‘Why did you do that? Why did you volunteer?’ It’s just so simple. The first person who volunteered was Aviv (Bruno). Cara had already been in the sand, and Laurel just got put as a target. So, she couldn’t even be an option. So it’s just like, it felt so much like, it’s time, just do it and when you feel that, in the moment, you do it."

Later in the podcast, the duo talked about how Emily spent her time in Cambodia and more.
