As Chris Browning returns to Bosch: Legacy season 3, he opens about the cliffhanger in Season 2. In season 2 of Bosch, Browning played Preston Borders, a man serving his jail sentence for murder, who claimed Harry Bosch had framed him years ago.

Harry was able to prove that evidence had been planted against him, and the case was dismissed. Borders returned in a chilling cliffhanger in Bosch: Legacy season 2 that left fans stunned.

Chris Browning, speaking on the cliffhanger scene, told GameRant in an interview,

"I'm not sure if I had anything to do with this, but I'm in contact with our fearless leader (Michael Connelly) quite a bit, and I joked with him, 'Hey, I'm loving Legacy, when is Preston Borders coming back?' And they actually said, that's a good idea. You're going to do one scene at the end of Bosch: Legacy season 2, so I went in and did the little call from prison."

When he was asked about the time jump in season 3 and how his character would continue, Chris Browning said in the same interview,

"I saw they were back in production, and I was thinking, where's my call? I'm the cliffhanger. I should be the first scene of Bosch: Legacy season 3. I did hear they did some storylines before they got to my thing, but they got to it, and we have a lot of cool stuff."

Preston Borders in Bosch: Legacy Season 3

The first four episodes of Bosch: Legacy are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Fans have enjoyed Preston Borders' return after the season two cliffhanger. In the cliffhanger, Borders revealed to Maddie Bosch that he was the one who killed Kurt Dockweile, that too at the request of her father, Harry Bosch.

Dockweile was the serial rapist who kidnapped Maddie when she got too close to catching him. The revelation had shocked viewers as it indicated that a detective like Harry Bosch would get a man killed.

In season 3 of Bosch: Legacy, Preston Borders makes an attempt to escape but is unable, and his character gets a worthy conclusion. Speaking about his experience with filming season 3, Browning said,

"I couldn't wait to see what they'd have me do in Season 3, and it was some great stuff. I had a lot of storyline. Fighting, riding, shooting and running, and I would come home exhausted. There were a lot of stunts, and crazy big shots in this thing. They gave me a lot to do. I come around this warehouse, and I turn right on the sidewalk for a 200-yard sprint. They tried to get it with this camera, and then a drone. I had a lot of hot baths at the end of the day."

Preston Borders was a character that deeply affected Harry's life. Thus it makes sense to bring him back in season 3 of Bosch: Legacy, which is the last season of the show. It helps wrap up one aspect of Harry's storyline.

The first four episodes of Bosch: Legacy are currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Prime will release two episodes each Thursday for the three upcoming Thursdays, April 3, 10, and 17, 2025.
