Set the date on your calendars as Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro's thrilling and intense limited series Zero Day is arriving on February 20, 2025. The Godfather star took on the role of George Mullen, a former U.S. president who's leading a crucial investigation.

Creator Eric Newman shed light on the plot of the TV series and said:

"Zero Day is about the aftermath of a devastating cyberattack that kills thousands of people and threatens to push a nation already on the precipice over the edge."

Interestingly, Netflix has also released the first look into the political thriller, in which De Niro's Mullen is seen desperately searching for something, and then a photograph drops. The former president then picks up the photograph, and the date "April 29, 1975" is shown, hinting that something crucial is linked to the date.

Zero Day is the brainchild of Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim, and Michael S. Schmidt, and they have also been joined by De Niro as the producer. They aim to offer viewers a dive into a world filled with disinformation.

Following a catastrophic global cyberattack, former President Mullen hunts for the truth and risks everything dear to him. He'll also be seen keeping his relationships and his moral integrity at stake, only to discover a big truth.

Robert De Niro is a globally renowned actor whose addition to Zero Day must have ignited curiosity among fans. While talking about his character, the actor said:

"That’s the spine of my character in the show. Don’t dodge anything. Don’t play games. Be honest about what’s going on so that the public knows what’s going on."

However, De Niro isn't the only loaded actor in the TV series, as it's packed with other notable stars, including Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Joan Allen, Jesse Plemons, and more. The limited series will have only six episodes, each directed by Lesli Linka Glatter, who has contributed to various projects, including True Blood, Homeland, Freaks and Geeks, and more.

Since De Niro is also serving as the producer, Newman couldn't stop expressing his heartfelt gratitude, as he said:

"As a lifelong fan of American cinema, no actor looms larger for me than Robert De Niro. To have him as a producing partner and star in this show is beyond our wildest dreams."

He continued:

"I’m grateful to Netflix for their continued faith and support and thrilled to be in business with the amazing creative team of Noah, Lesli, and Jonathan on this timely (and terrifying) series."

So, make sure to follow Zero Day on Netflix and explore a high-stakes investigation into a potential global crisis.
