The fifth and final season of You is rapidly advancing toward its season finale, which airs on April 24. Ahead of the end of his time as the viciously seductive serial killer Joe Goldberg, Penn Badgley recently dropped a rather unconventional video in association with Netflix.

The video features him narrating a scene from the romantic drama show Nobody Wants This, starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, but in his singular fashion. It is interesting to note that Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, and Penn Badgley are the three popular alums of the glossy CW soap opera Gossip Girl.

Here's everything that we know.

You star Penn Badgley narrates a scene from Nobody Wants This

Netflix recently took to its Instagram page to drop the promotional video. In the video, Badgley is seen sitting against a dark studio background, being his usual self. He begins the video by mentioning the fact that:

"In the finale of Gossip Girl, it was revealed that the very lovely Kristen Bell was lending her voice to my character, to Dan Humphrey who is the real Gossip Girl. Sorry, spoiler alert! I thought I would repay the favour. I'm going to put a little narrative spin on Kristen's show Nobody Wants This."

He then proceeds to narrate the voice-over for a scene from the romantic drama show in which Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are seen kissing each other. Badgley ends the video by saying:

"What I want is Adam Brody!" and then shocks the viewers with this unique crossover between the two shows.

Penn Badgley opens up about the beginning of his career and his time on Gossip Girl

Way before he became Joe Goldberg on Netflix, Badgley was already at the height of his popularity owing to his appearance on CW network's Gossip Girl. Speaking in an interview with Radio Times, he shed light on the formative years of his life when he had first moved to Los Angeles. When asked about if his parents were supportive of his decision to pursue acting at eleven years old, Badgley answered:

"At that age, your parents need to be. They also need to be a bit crazy to let you become a professional actor at a young age. It’s definitely not advisable for virtually all parents. When kids go to LA, it’s (usually) because the parents are splitting up."

He was then asked about the idea of adults playing teenage characters, as he did while playing Dan Humphrey in Gossip Girl at the age of twenty-one:

"It’s something we don’t give a lot of attention to – but it’s surprisingly odd that we depict teenagers, people who are growing, and we take people who have grown and put them in those positions… All the things they’re doing – sex, drugs, all that stuff! It’s less funny when you actually see teenagers doing it."

You is exclusively available on Netflix.
