British actress Safiyya Ingar, who appeared in The Witcher Season 3 as Keira Metz revealed that Netflix has got a lot stricter about NDAs. She appeared in four episodes throughout the third season. She will be returning as her character in the fourth season which is expected to release this year, but doesn't have a date yet.
There isn't much footage for Netflix's The Witcher Season 4 yet, except for the first look of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. While we wait for the official teaser or trailer for the fourth season, we recently gained insight into how strict Netflix's NDAs are. Safiyya Ingar recently revealed that she posted something on her social media account that she thought was innocuous but Netflix felt was a spoiler.
How did The Witcher's Safiyya Ingar supposedly violate her Netflix NDA?
Ingar recently appeared in an interview with Tatiana Hullender to promote her upcoming movie, Brides at Sundance. Their conversation pivoted to Netflix's The Witcher and her experience on the set. Safiyya Ingar recalled posting an image of prop swords on her social media account. Netflix reprimanded her for the post, and since then, she has learned to be careful.
All she said was that Liam Hemsworth, who replaced Henry Cavill looks the part of Geralt of Rivia. Here's what she told Hullender:
"I can't! They've got us in a chokehold so hard, I could say one word and there goes my NDA; my phone'll blow up. I remember I got in so much trouble. I can say this because technically people already know, but we went in for stunt training mid-last year. I posted a picture of the prop swords, and it was just an ambiguous little thing. There was no indication of anything in there. I was just like, "We're back." And everyone knew we started filming, so it was fine. But I got a call... It was not fine! "Hello, you need to take that down." I was like, "Hello, who is this? "You need to take that off your social media. There's been a security breach. The news tabloids have got ahold of it." And I was just like, "But it's a box of swords! The Witcher carries a sword!" But what I can say is that Liam looks great. That's it. That's all I can say."
If the Netflix NDA prohibits actors from sharing images of the props, then we won't learn much about The Witcher Season 4 until the release of an official trailer.
What is The Witcher Season 4 about?
The Witcher Season 3 ended on a note that could impact and alter the entire Continent. Yennefer, Geralt, and Ciri, who are separated, will encounter countless demons in a war-torn Continent in the fourth season. If our separated heroes can lead and accept the groups of misfits they are a part of, they may survive the baptism of fire and even find each other again.
Are there any new cast members in the fourth season?
Fans of The Witcher will be happy to find several fan-favorite characters from the books and games. Here are the actors who will be joining the fourth season:
- Laurence Fishburne is playing Regis, a barber-surgeon whose past is mysterious
- Sharlto Copley is playing Leo Bonhart, an infamous bounty hunter
- James Purefoy is playing Skellen, Emhyr’s court advisor
- Danny Woodburn is playing fan-favorite character Zoltan, a dwarf
