Adolescence star Owen Cooper has been getting some much-deserved praise for his performance on the Netflix crime drama show. His portrayal of the teenage boy Jamie Miller, who is under suspicion for the murder of a female classmate, Katie Leonard, has been mesmerizing, to say the least. Netflix has released Cooper's audition tape for the show, which clearly shows why he deserved the role. The audition tape includes Owen Cooper acting out two scenes from the four-part limited series Adolescence.

The first part of the audition tape shows us the scene where Jamie is advised by a lawyer before his interview with the police. Owen Cooper portrays the troubled character beautifully, showing his internal conflict.

The second part of the audition tape shows Cooper acting out the scene where the psychologist Briony Ariston is analyzing Jamie seven months after the murder has occurred to make a mental health report on him. Jamie has spent those seven months in a youth detention facility, and the scene clearly shows that his mental health issues have not been resolved. He shocks Briony when he yells,

"I don't f**king want to sit down!"

How did Owen Cooper react to his Adolescence Audition Tape posted by Netflix?

Viewers have loved Adolescence and the way it tells such an important story. They also loved Owen's performance and the audition tape that shows his capability as a young actor. Fans and critics believe Owen has immense potential and can be a force in the industry. However, Owen, like a true teenager, is embarrassed to see his audition tape.

Owen Cooper and Erin Doherty reacted to his audition tape posted by Netflix. The young actor is embarrassed that people have seen a clip of him acting when he was younger. Doherty, his co-star loves the audition tape and asks him humorously, ''Why is your hair doing that?'' to which Owen responds, ''That's what my head used to look like.''

Doherty reacts warmly to the tape saying, ''Ah see, even then I'm like, 'Ah no! He didn't do it.''' At the end of the tape, Cooper says,

''I hated that.''

It shows us that the actor believes he has come far from the audition tape and performed much better in the show. Doherty says what probably every actor feels, '

"Okay well, you're not supposed to like looking at yourself.''

Perhaps that is one of the reasons Owen 'hated that.'

Adolescence, the limited series on Netflix, explores the consequences of bullying and incel subculture on young boys in today's times. The newest British crime drama is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
