My Hero Academia, the ultimate showdown between good and evil, prepares for its eighth and final season as announced through an action-packed teaser trailer at the 2025 Anime Japan event. Studio Bones shared exclusive new art and the trailer ahead of the final installment's exclusive streaming on Crunchyroll in October 2025.

Less than a year after the seventh season of the anime series was aired in October 2024, Studio Bones announced the eighth and final Season of the superpowered series. The series is an adaptation of the manga of the same name by Kohei Horikoshi. Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump serialized the manga in July 2024, and the final chapter was published in August 2024. Therefore, it came as no surprise to the loyal fans of the manga as well as the anime series that the eighth season of My Hero Academia would be its final chapter.

Everything about the final My Hero Academia Installment

The eighth Season of My Hero Academia will cover the rest of the Final War plot and deliver a fitting end to the action-packed series. The staff that gave the fans Season 7 of the series will be once more coming together for the final installment. Naomi Nakayama and Kenji Nagasaki as director and chief director, respectively, with Studio Bones. The series scripts will be handled by Yosuke Kuroda. The music and character designs will also be taken up by the same staff for the eighth season as announced previously.

Set in a world where most of the population, about 80% of it, is born with superpowers or abilities known as Quirks, the seventh Season of My Hero Academia sets the stage for the final installment with some serious cliffhangers. As the world often goes, the good guys, aka the heroes, use their Quirks to protect society from accidents, natural disasters, and the bad guys, aka the criminals, who use their Quirks for evil.

The story follows the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, a boy born with no Quirks of his own whose unfortunate reality is not enough to stop him from dreaming of becoming a hero. To bring his hopes to reality, Izuku enrolls himself in the most prestigious school for superheroes and eventually receives powers from the world's greatest superhero, All Might. The ending of the seventh Season featured two epic battles between the heroes and the villains, one of which ended on a masterful cliffhanger that left the My Hero Academia fans anxiously waiting for the final installment.

The teaser-trailer drop and streaming announcement at Crunchyroll worldwide in October 2025 of the final Season of My Hero Academia has captured all eyes, and fans are religiously hoping that the staff does justice to the epic run of the anime series that has spanned an entire decade.
