Suits LA creator Aaron Korsh addressed Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex's return to the franchise's spin-off, in an interview with People Magazine.
Korsh discussed the scope of Markle returning to the franchise as she played an important role in the original series, which ran from 2011-2018:
“So, look, to me, we have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor...“I think for me that's a little ... My brain blows up at the thought of that. So I think it blows up the world too much,”
Markle exited Suits in Season 7 when her character moved to Seattle with her on-screen husband Mike Ross.
Markle took a break from acting in 2018 after she got married, making a possible return difficult. However, the actress has since worked on Disneynature's Elephant as a narrator. She is also set to appear in a reality Netflix series, With Love, Meghan in March 2025.

Suits LA creator opens up on Markle's return

Meghan Markle played the character of Rachel Zane in Suits, from Seasons 1-7. She started as a paralegal and eventually became a lawyer, striking a romance with Mike, whom she eventually married.
After Patrick J. Adams decided to exit the show, Markle's Rachel also quit and moved to Seattle with her on-screen husband. Her last appearance on the show was in April 2018.
When asked if the makers would accommodate Markle's character in Suits LA, Korsh notes (via People Magazine):
''Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back. But I think realistically, it would be too much of an explosion of the fourth wall to do that. Yeah.''
After the success of Suits, Korsh created a spin-off series, Suits LA, which is set to premiere on NBC on February 23, 2025. It stars Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a lawyer who moved to LA from New York and opened his own law firm.
The spin-off also brings back beloved Suits character Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter. Fans await to see more characters from the original show in the spin-off.
