Big Brother 26 fans must remember show host Julie Chen Moonves, who was recently absent from her duties in the September 12 episode. In the meantime, guest host Jerry O’Connell took over the show and was featured on it.
Julie’s absence was due to a medical urgency. In her recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the host shared how, for the first time, she had to miss her duties as the Big Brother 26 host.
While on the subject of the popular reality show, Julie Chen also shared her thoughts about some of the housemates. Referring to Angela Murray, Julie shared,
"She can also show her loving, nurturing side or her vulnerable side, and people gravitate to that. She may be playing the best game in there yet!"

In her Entertainment Weekly interview published on September 12, 2024, Big Brother 26 host Julie Chen Moonves shared why she was absent from the show. The reason was COVID-19. Julie referred to her time off as the “Staycation” and enjoyed the show while recovering.
"It was like a staycation. I was like, “Oooooh, so this is what it’s like to have a watch party." Just one problem… it was a party of one!"
She also shared the news with everyone via a post on Instagram on September 12. It said,
"Friday morning, I woke up with a sore throat and went to see my good friend, who is an ENT. That night he called to say I have Covid. Thankfully this is only the second time for me and it’s been very mild! No fever and just a sore throat."
Regarding how Jerry did in her “host” role on Big Brother 26, Julie said that his personality “really comes through.” She added that he is a “genuinely funny guy.”
While she was asked about housemates, Julie shared that housemates “don’t feel threatened” by Angela.
"They don’t feel threatened by her. But don’t forget: In season 2, no one felt threatened by Will Kirby, and he won. Be warned: Angela knows this game and knows how to stir it up when she wants, and that has served her well," shared Julie.
Regarding the recent events from Big Brother 26, Julie also shared that the housemates’ decision to evict Quinn has been “smart.” She also said he was “funny, charming, and a clever player.”
Also, according to Julie, having such a housemate who doesn’t hold “grudges” and knows how to “charm” his way might be the qualities that made housemates think of him as a “warning.”
