Maxton Hall Season 2 gets major release update by Prime Video

Maxton Hall season 2 was confirmed by Prime Video just over a week after the first season’s release in May 2024. The German romantic drama became the most-watched non-English language show on the streamer, which led to its quick renewal.

Ever since fans have been awaiting the release of the next installment. Prime Video has now shared a major update about the release window of Maxton Hall season 2, confirming that the show will return at the end of 2025.

The series, also called Maxton Hall — The World Between Us, tells the story of a girl from a humble background who attends a prestigious school on a scholarship and accidentally gets embroiled in the dark secrets of the elite.

Maxton Hall Season 2 to premiere at the end of 2025

Prime Video has confirmed that Maxton Hall season 2 will premiere by the end of this year, marking a 1.5-year-long gap between the first and the second installments. The upcoming season has already been filmed, as the shoot began in July 2024 and concluded in September.

Confirming the development, Prime Video released an official statement to Deadline, which reads:

“We want to offer fans around the globe the best Maxton Hall experience. As such, we’re intensely working on a first-class production and music composition for the series, including comprehensive language versions. We promise the wait will be worth it.”

Maxton Hall season 2 will pick up after the events of the first season’s finale, where James left his house. Though he has fallen in love with Ruby, he walks away from her after seeing her happy with her family.

In the new season, Ruby has another challenge to face. While things finally seem to be going right for her, a surprise event is going to happen in James’ family that will once again create issues between the two, and the rich heir might cause more trouble for the scholarship student.

The six-episode first season arrived on Prime Video on May 9, 2024, and reached the number-one spot in over 120 countries, becoming the most-watched international series on the streaming platform. The show has been received well for portraying the themes of love, betrayal, and class divide.

The main cast members will be reprising their roles in the new season, including Harriet Herbig-Matten as Ruby Bell and Damian Hardung as James Beaufort. The cast also includes Ben Felipe as Cyril, Sonja Weißer as Lydia, Runa Greiner as Ember, Andrea Guo as Lin, Fedja van Huêt as Mortimer, Justus Riesner as Alistair, Eli Riccardi as Elaine, and Frederic Balonier as Kieran.
