Matthew Fox is making his way back to TV with The Madison. On August 26, 2024, Paramount announced the Lost and Party of Five star will be at the lead in the newest Yellowstone spinoff. Fox has been famous for his Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated role as Jack Shephard in Lost.

He is now gearing up to play Paul, a "self-reliant bachelor who loves the outdoors," in the new Taylor Sheridan series.

Michelle Pfeiffer has also been selected to play Stacy Clyburn, opposite Fox. She is the matriarch of a New York City family relocating to the Madison River Valley in Montana. This spinoff is a look at grief and human connections, with Fox taking a key role in bringing Sheridan's vision to life.

People reported that Pfeiffer’s role in the series was revealed last month. Chris McCarthy, one of the co-CEOs at Paramount Global, said:

"Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity, and grace."

Since Pfeiffer is stepping in as an executive producer, this will be her first project in the Yellowstone universe. The new series was initially called 2024, and it finally brings the story into the modern day.

The Madison is set to be the seventh spinoff from the popular Yellowstone series. There will also be upcoming ones like 6666 and 1944. This story will focus on a New York family dealing with loss and figuring out how to adjust to life in the Madison River Valley.

As Pfeiffer's character guides her family through their ups and downs, Fox's Paul is the rugged, handyman who fits in with the wild Montana scenery.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, Fox expressed his excitement for the role, saying,

"I’ve always been drawn to characters who find strength in solitude, and Paul embodies that perfectly. Taylor Sheridan’s storytelling is both cinematic and deeply personal, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this world."

Sheridan has once again put together an ensemble cast. It features Patrick J. Adams from Suits, Beau Garrett from The Good Doctor, Amiah Miller from My Best Friend’s Exorcism, and Elle Chapman from A Man Called Otto.

Adams takes on the role of Russell McIntosh. He is an investment banker whose life feels set in stone. Meanwhile, Garrett plays Abigail Reese, a mom of two who injects humor and contemporary realities into the show.

Since it came out in 2018, Yellowstone has taken off. It has gone on to create quite a few spinoffs that people love. The Madison is notable because it’s the first one set in the present day. This is, thus, different from the period pieces like 1883 and 1923.

Even though Yellowstone is wrapping up later this year, Sheridan's universe is still going strong with The Madison and other projects in the works.

According to Deadline, Fox is going back into drama with the upcoming series after taking a break to focus on personal projects and smaller roles.

If you're a fan of the Yellowstone series, watch The Madison on Paramount+ when it's out. You can also catch earlier spinoffs on the platform. The main Yellowstone series is on Peacock.
