Fans have been waiting for an update on Moon Knight Season 2 for the past three years since the conclusion of the miniseries in May 2022. Brad Winderbaum, the executive at Marvel Television recently gave an update on the possibility of a second season of Moon Knight to ComicBook.com. His update was bittersweet.

He said that while Marc Spector and Steven Grant will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are currently no plans for a Moon Knight Season 2. Winderbaum's statements have ignited hope amongst fans to meet Moon Knight again, but they are simultaneously disappointed because the finale did set up an unexplored side of the character.

What were Brad Winderbaum's comments regarding Moon Knight Season 2?

Brad Winderbaum, Marvel's head of streaming, television, and animation was interviewed by ComicBook.com. The interview was about the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again, and the conversation at one point veered towards the status of other characters in the MCU, including Moon Knight, who was recently seen in the first episode of What If...? Season 3.

Winderbaum discussed the status and possibility of Moon Knight Season 2 in the interview. His exact quote to ComicBook.com was:

"So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future. And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road."

While Moon Knight may have a role to play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe considering Victor Von Doom's involvement. It is worth noting that The Avengers can take the help of every hero they can. Mark being a vessel for a God, can be a formidable opponent in Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse Saga. One interesting aspect of Winderbaum's comment above is that priorities at Marvel Television have shifted.

A similar reason was cited for Marvel halting the development of three MCU Disney+ series. Those three shows were Terror, Inc., Nova, and Strange Academy. This was reported by Deadline on February 20, 2025, citing the studio's shifting priorities for pausing the development of these shows. The report carried Winderbaum's comment from August 2024, which was:

“We’re developing more than we make now, so we’re actually have a few different things brewing that we might see through to at least a pilot script to see if we want to make it. But, there’s a lot of opportunity out there, it’s hard to choose favorites… We’re really being careful about what we choose to do next.”

Based on the two comments, we can ascertain that Moon Knight Season 2 is not happening for now. The character, however, is probably going to appear in an MCU project very soon.
