Lucky: Drew Starkey from Outer Banks has joined the cast of Apple TV's upcoming limited thriller series adaptation

Apple TV+ will soon be back with a new limited thriller series titled Lucky as Anya Taylor-Joy takes up a lead role, per Variety. Earlier in January, Annette Bening reportedly joined the cast of the much-anticipated thriller adaptation of Marissa Stapley’s bestseller.

Now, fresh news comes, per Deadline, that Outer Banks star Drew Starkey will also be a part of the cast of Lucky. Starkey was recently featured in the 2024 period drama film Queer alongside James Bond icon Daniel Craig - a movie which gained him quite some popularity in a very short time. A logline of the upcoming limited series Lucky starring Drew Starkey, per Variety, reads:

"A young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past."

According to the latest reports, Drew Starkey (well-known for his contribution to Netflix's adventure drama Outer Banks) will play a role in Apple TV's high-anticipated limited thriller series Lucky. Anya Taylor-Joy will be cast as the titular character named Lucky, and Drew will portray her husband, a man named Cary, Per Deadline.

Lucky is a joint venture between Apple TV+ and executive producer cum co-showrunner Jonathan Tropper alongside Reese Witherspoon - not to mention that Jonathan Van Tulleken is in charge of directing many episodes. Per Deadline, Lauren Neustadter, on behalf of Hello Sunshine, will also join to executive produce the upcoming thriller show.

Annette Bening, whose part was confirmed a month back by multiple sources, will portray a character named Priscilla, a vicious mob leader. As multiple sources have stated, Emmy Award-nominated star Timothy Olyphant will also take an important role in Lucky, where we will reportedly see him as the titular character's father.

Drew Starkey is best known among his fans as Rafe Cameron from Outer Banks, an action-adventure drama show on Netflix since 2020. Outer Banks recently left viewers even more speculating owing to a cliffhanger ending to Season 4 following a major character's death. Drew's contribution to the show is quite noteworthy - not to mention his perfect portrayal of a character that is as much loved by viewers as hated.

Starkey's recent work Queer, a period romantic drama by Luca Guadagnino starring Daniel Craig, has gained him much recognition in the past few months. The 31-year-old star has also been associated with the 2018 teen romantic drama Love Simon, where he portrayed Garrett Laughlin, a classmate of the protagonist Simon.
